So … Vegas! Such a mixed bag for me. Noice, flashy bright lights, late hours, crass commercialism, and an opulent, over the top aesthetic; just not my thing. And yet; I always enjoy myself here! I LOVE the people watching, the seeing what’s new, what’s changed, those small moments snd visuals that are just not part of home … or anywhere else.

So here’s me at a slot machine. My standing joke is that when servers come around and get me a well drink, the casino has already lost money on me. That’s how little I spend gambling. Okay, slight exaggeration but it’s true that nooooo casino will be sending me offers for comp stays. Viva Las Vegas!

Where can you go to see a shipwreck on the beach? The one sort-of kind-of in my backyard is the Peter Iredale. This English cargo ship heading to the Columbia River ran ashore in 1906. Its visibility—and lack thereof—has changed over the years with the ever changing Pacific shoreline, storms and tides. But it’s great fun to walk around the wreckage.

The first photos are recent and the last is one is an old film shot of mine from the early 90’s that allows you to glimpse the wreckage from bow to stern.
